Gameday Thread - Doubleheader Style!

Ah, my first gameday open thread and low and behold, it's a doubleheader! The matchup for game 1 pits the Braves Horacio Ramirez against the Nationals Esteban Loaiza. Since this report is coming to you a little late, we're already in the 5th inning at Turner Field with the score tied at 3 apiece. Andruw Jones is responsible for all the Braves runs with his 43rd home run in the first inning. Marlon Byrd has just tied it for the Nationals with a solo shot in the 5th.

The second game of the twinbill features John Thomson vs. Livan Hernandez. Updates will follow.

Don't forget. We love comments and diary entries!

Update [2005-8-31 18:15:12 by jhamrahi]: Andruw does it again. A 2 run double in the 5th to give him 5 RBI for the game and the Braves still aren't done. 5-3 Atlanta

Update [2005-8-31 19:26:17 by jhamrahi]:: Reitsma in for Ramirez in the 8th. One walk, one K and a man reaching on an error by Chipper. Farnsworth takes over and gets the DP from Vinny Castilla. Atlanta still leads 5-3, bottom 8th.

Update [2005-8-31 19:26:17 by jhamrahi]:: Farnsworth closes it out for the save. Braves win, 5-3. Ramirez gets the win (11-8), Farnsworth the save (8). Loaiza (9-10) takes the loss for Washington. More analysis later. But now, I need to catch a train!
