A Win is a Win is a Win! Braves 6, Phillies 4

Despite another 8 hit night, 3 errors, and some more scary bullpen moments, the Braves hang on to salvage the 4th game of the series.

Chipper was the hero tonight blasting 2 homers and driving in 5. Sosa was less than spectacular, but he was good enough to pick up his 12th win.

Andruw Jones and Jeff Francoeur went 0-for-8 combined with 5 strikeouts. I'm sure there are a lot of smiles on people's faces as Francoeur goes through this little slump of his. Don't worry. Jeff will rebound!

This was a lot bigger win than it may appear on the surface. The Braves go back to 6 games ahead of the Phillies, and with Florida losing again, they will probably remain 6 ahead of the Marlins with 15 games to play.

Next up is a 3 game set with the Mets who are 2-12 in their last 14 games. Let's hope they don't pick now to break out of their slump.

Pedro was moved up a day for New York so we will see a Smoltz-Martinez matchup on Friday night. Saturday will be Hudson and Trachsel and Sunday will be Thomson and Glavine.

Florida and Philadelphia battle each other the next 3 days as NL East baseball gets hot and heavy.

Should be a fun couple of weeks ahead!
