Rubber Game Goes to the Mets, Braves Go Home (Thank God!)

Former Brave pitcher Tom Glavine did his best Pedro Martinez impression today as Atlanta's offense was held to just 6 hits...again.

I feel like I can just copy the same story over and over and over again. Will it ever end?

This was a flat out horrible series for the Braves. I told you I was nervous before it started. Atlanta ends the road trip 4-6 and now gets to go home to face the Phillies, Marlins, and Rockies for three games apiece before finishing the season in Florida. That's right, 9 of the final 12 are against Philadelphia and Florida. Get your rally caps ready. We're gonna need them.

At least Adam LaRoche seems to be coming around. LaRoche picked up 2 of the team's 6 hits and has now gone 6 for his last 8. And despite the loss, John Thomson had a decent outing.

Jeff Francoeur also picked up his 20th double and made a sparkling catch on a sinking liner off the bat of Mike Piazza.

Tomorrow is an off day before Jorge Sosa takes on Brett Myers for the second time in a week.

As Bob Murphy used to say, fasten your seatbelts! The next two weeks are going to be a heck of a ride.
