Final from Atlanta, Braves 8, Nationals 7

Andruw does it again! This time he connects in dramatic fashion with a walk-off homer in the 10th inning after the bullpen almost blows another game.

This was a scary one. After jumping out to a 7-1 lead courtesy of homers by Chipper and Francoeur, Brower (just recalled), McBride, and Kolb proceed to let the game get away. By the way, I know Reitsma scares me. But Brower terrifies me. I'm having a hard time accepting that this is a playoff bound relief corp.

Anyway, there was a bright spot among all this. Kyle Davies entered the game in the 8th and pitched 3 solid innings in relief, just his second relief appearance this season. Maybe, just maybe, Davies will be our ace in the hole down the stretch.

With apologies to Albert Pujols and Derrek Lee, Andruw really deserves some strong consideration when it comes time to vote for the NL MVP...that is if the award is given out to the player who truly is most valuable to his team.

One parting note...anyone else happy that Furcal was back in the lineup tonight? All Raffy did was go 3 for 3 with 2 runs scored, a walk, and a sacrifice. The Braves better be prepared to open their checkbook this winter. We need to keep Furcal!
