Open Thread - September 23 - Florida at Atlanta (In Progress)

We pick up tonight's game in the 5th with the Marlins leading the Braves 3-0. It's no surprise that the Braves offense has yet to score, but it is a surprise that John Smoltz, who was originally slated to start tomorrow, is getting banged around a bit.

Smoltz has allowed 3 runs on 7 hits and 2 walks through 5 innings. Carlos Delgado has the big blow...a 2 run homer in the 3rd.

Meanwhile, in Cincinnati, the Phillies and Reds are tied at 6 in the last half of the 6th inning. Ryan Howard has homered again for Philadelphia, his 20th of the season.

Be back in a bit...

Update [2005-9-23 22:10:13 by jhamrahi]:
Last of the 8th in Atlanta...Braves have taken the lead 4-3. In Cincinnati, the Reds explode for 2 homers in the 6th and 2 homers in the 7th, and now lead the Phillies 10-6, also in the 8th.
