The Braves put the finishing touches on a historic evening by crushing the Colorado Rockies, 12-3, behind the bat of Marcus Giles who cracked two home runs for the NL Eastern Division Champions. Jeff Francoeur and Ryan Langerhans also added 2 hits apiece for Atlanta who finished the game with 13 base knocks.
Tim Hudson did his job but was pulled after just 75 pitches. It was fairly obvious that Bobby Cox had every intention of giving one of his top starters a bit of a break.
Lost in tonight's celebration was the fact that 2005 1st round draft pick, Joey Devine, pitched a perfect 9th inning and struck out two.
Well that about does it for today. Only a few more days before the second season begins.
Let's hear it just one more time...GO BRAVES!!!
