The Braves recalled yet another prospect today. Pitcher Anthony Lerew will be the 17th rookie the Braves have used this year and the 11th making his major league debut. Prior to this season, Lerew was the Braves 5th rated prospect as determined by Baseball America.

Lerew split time between Mississippi and Richmond this season. For Mississippi, Anthony went 6-2 with a 3.93 ERA in 14 starts. He pitched 76 innings, while allowing 70 hits. He walked 32 and struck out 64. For Richmond, Lerew went 4-4 with a 3.48 ERA in 13 starts. He pitched 72 innings and allowed 63 hits. He walked 23 and struck out 53.

With 27 starts and 148 innings already on his arm, it will be interesting to see how exactly the Braves plan to use Lerew.
