Bonds and Number 715

While the Braves mount a comeback (it's now 9-5 Los Angeles), I thought I'd share an article I posted over at Baseball Digest Daily...

First of all, I am not a Bonds apologist. I'm not here to defend Barry on his use of "illegal" performance enhancing drugs. Nor do I condone such actions or behavior.

I also realize that Barry Bonds is an obnoxious and difficult person. He is rude, self-serving, and cares only about himself. But there is one thing I do know...Barry Bonds is the greatest baseball player I have ever seen. And I'm not just talking about the last 7 years of the post-BALCO era. This is a man who has put up ridiculous numbers. Just take a look at his performance from 1986 through 1998...
