It's official. Dayton Moore is the new General Manager of the Kansas City Royals, taking over for Allard Baird who was fired earlier today.
The heir to the Braves GM position leaves Atlanta to take over the team that John Schuerholz ran just a few decades ago. Moore becomes the sixth general manager in Royals history.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Kansas City offered Moore a five year deal worth a reported $1 million per season.
