It is FINALLY here!?!?!?!?!?!
Ahh, opening day at last - I am VERY excited. Let's hope the Braves come through with a win. I'm throwing the open thread up a day early, as I'm likely sleeping in tomorrow, nonetheless I'm amazingly excited. Although, as I turn on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball, I remember that I have to listen to Jon Miller and Joe Morgan...well, mainly I'm mad about having to listen to Morgan. By the way...did you know that Opening Night is "built my Home Depot?" I didn't know that...

The Braves finished the spring with an 18-12-2 record. They slumped a bit in the middle weeks, but came up with some wins in the last week of spring. I am a bit concerned that Smoltz, James, and Hudson all had their worst spring outing in their final spring outing. Couple that with the fact that Cormier may not be 100%, and who knows what the hell we're going to get from Mark Redman, and it seems like we head into the spring a bit wobbly. Francoeur did his usual slump towards the end of spring, but came on strong right at the end, which gives me a little bit of hope that he won't repeat his early season slump like he did to start last season. Craig Wilson's spring was COMPLETELY unimpressive as was, to a lesser extent, Scott Thorman's - we're counting on those guys this year, so let's hope they snap out of their spring funk.

Don't forget to get your picks in before the game for Nok-A-Homa-Win-A-Lotta (click here to learn how to play); the three categories are (1) Attendance, (2) Pick to Click, and (3) Above and Beyond Pick.
