The Braves have certainly been scoring runs this year, and it looks like they will need to continue to score runs as four of the top five run-scoring teams in the National League are in the NL East. And the player who has been the most adept at driving in runners this year is Jeff Francoeur - who else but mister free-swinger turned patient walk machine. With a National League leading 24 RBIs Frenchy is also chasing another record, and a trip to the vast expanses of Coors Field in Colorado may be all he needs to break it. Unfortunately, Francoeur is a Langerhans-esque 2-for-18 at Coors for his career - both singles.
Here is the breakdown of where he stands on the Braves all-time April RBI leaders list:
Rank | Player | Year | April RBI | April Games |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | Dale Murphy | 1985 |

2 | Fred McGriff | 1996 |

It is rather amazing to see how many RBI Murph had in such a short span of time, and it is always nostalgically heart warming to come across Dale Murphy's name.
