NOT STARTUP! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
And what the F? Now we have 9 relievers! There must be some more trades happening... must be!
Update [2007-7-31 16:41:56 by gondeee]:
Roster moves made before today's game:
The Braves purchased the contract of catcher Corky Miller from triple-A Richmond and optioned RHP Chad Paronto to Richmond. Why does Brayan Pena get no love? The Corkster was hitting a robust .210 at triple-A - huh!?
We still have too many relief pitchers on our roster, right? (1) Wickman, (2) Soriano, (3) Moylan, (4) Yates, (5) Villarreal, and now (6) Mahay, (7) Dotel, (8) and Ring. I'm delerious...
Update [2007-7-31 20:26:33 by gondeee]:
To address the Corky Miller situation; the Braves need to have at least three catchers who were called up before September 1st, and are thus eligible for postseason rosters. This protects them against any possible injury to either McCann or his backup. Still, I’m guessing Corky stays up here, and Pena is recalled in September. For whatever reason, the Braves like to keep a "veteran" guy in the backup catcher role regardless of what kind of offensive player he is.
