As reported by Baseball Digest Daily, one of the rumored trade targets of half the team in contention was scratched off today as the White Sox signed Mark Buehrle to a four-year contract extension worth $14 million a year. I, for one, am sort of glad that the non-rumor rumors will now finally cease. We would have had to give up a LOT to get Buehrle and I think the return would not have been worth the cost.
Anyway, who else do you think we should set our sights on. Or, do you think we should be sellers and not buyers. In this market, there will never be a stronger market for Hudson, or Wickman, or Renteria. Even with the acquisition of another starting pitcher, will that "really" put us over the hump and ahead of the Mets?
