Richmond 6, Charlotte 4 (final 10inn.)
- J. Perry - 2-4 2B, HR(1), 2 RBI, SB, BB, K
- C. Sammons - 2-4 2B
Jason Perry got the promotion to AAA and he just picked up right where he left off with the M-Braves. The guy appears to have a legitimate bat but the Braves have a crowded OF situation and he isn't on the 40 man roster so I don't see how he gets on the team at any point this season.
West Tenn 5, Mississippi 3
- J. Holt - 2-5 SB
- G. Creek - 1-3
Nothing much to say about this game. Jason Perry is gone and Reid Gorecki is on the DL still so the offense might suffer when it has to rely on Kala Kaaihue. Jordan Schafer comes off his suspension tomorrow and he will probably spend a few days working out with the team before he returns to action. I would look for him to come in during the series against Mobile.
Frederick 1, Myrtle Beach 7
- G. Hernandez - 1-5 2B, RBI, K
- W. Cabrera - 3-5 2B
- T. Jones - 1-5 HR(8), 3 RBI, 2 K
- T. Flowers - 4-4 HR(5), 2 RBI
The only reason I list Hernandez up there is that he has 27 hits this season and 14 of them have gone for extra bases. That is very nice. Will we look back in a month and say this is the game that Tyler Flowers broke out on? I dunno, but it is uplifting to see him hitting at home and hitting for power at home where he has struggled mightily. I think one thing is certain: he saw his name on the not hot list for Baseball America today. Scott Diamond allowed 1 run in 7 innings in his second start at The Beach.
Asheville 6, Rome 3
- C. MIles - 3-4 SB
- J. Heyward - 1-3 BB
- C. Ludahl - 2-4 2B
Well Cole Rohrbough got hammered in his start, giving up 6 runs over 3 innings to seal the deal before they even got started. I honestly think that is the worst game of his short career. I mean the dude only gave up 8 earned runs in 61 innings last year and he gave up 5 tonight? Amazing!
