Sorry for the sporadic minors updates. I'll get back to doing them daily once the Gond returns from his foray.

Louisville 11, Richmond 8
A Scott Thorman siting in this game! He went 3-5 with 3 doubles in the game bringing his average all the way back up to the Mendoza line! Woot! Diory Hernandez had another hit and Clint Sammons tacked on a couple as well, but it didn't really matter since no one could outs. Amazingly they did hold top prospect Jay Bruce hitless. I'll call the game a tie.
Chattanooga 6, Mississippi 7
This team has shown genuine improvement since Jason Perry arrived. Did he just solidify the lineup that much or what? I have no clue. He went 1-3 with 2 walks. Javier Guzman and Greg Creek both had two hits. James Parr got lit like a firecracker. Otherwise nothing too exciting going down in this one.
Myrtle Beach 6, Salem 2
Brandon Hicks is the story again with 4-5 night including a double and a HR. He has been on fire since returning to the lineup and I love it. Ernesto Mejia also knocked his 3rd HR of the year. Deunte Heath threw a solid game but did surrender 9 hits in 5 innings. I feel like he has been getting lucky so far this season.
Greenville 0, Rome 5
Jeff Locke appears to be...ahem... locked in. He threw 6 innings allowing no runs and no walks. He hasn't allowed a run in either of his last two starts. I said earlier in the year he would be our best pitching prospect this year and I still stand by that. Cody Johnson, Jason Heyward and Adam Coe all went 2-4 in the game.

Louisville 1, Richmond 9
Much better this time, and Jay Bruce goes hitless again. Jonothan Rouwenhorst pitched a solid game with only 1 run allowed through 5 innings. Scott Thorman must have figured something out. He has his second straight three hit game going 3-5 with 2 more RBI. Diory Hernandez has done nothing but hit since he got his promotion going 3-4 with a double and 3 more RBI. Joe Borchard also chipped in with a HR.
Chattanooga 4, Mississippi 6
Wow, a 2 game win streak! Todd Redmond pitched his second straight not great game, but he still came out of it with the win because the offense knocked in 4 in the 6th with a bunch of consecutive hits. The only player on the team with more than one hit was the speedster Quentin Davis (he of the .133 BA).
Myrtle Beach 2, Salem 6
Reversal! Nothing really special to report. Kyle Cofield was only credited with 2 ER, but he allowed all 6 in the second and the error that cause the runs to be unearned was his own. Travis Jones did his his 3rd HR of the season to lead off the game.
Greenville 5, Rome 4
Scott Diamond had another well pitched game squandered by his bullpen. Adam Coe was 3-4 with a double and a HR (1). I don't think I really have anything else.

Louisville 3, Richmond 4
The Braves take the third game of the series in another 1-run affair. Jay Bruce is still 0-fer against the Richmond pitching staff. Joe Borchard chipped in another HR (two straight games) and Diory Hernandez adds two more hits raising his average tow .433. Charlie Morton had another strong performance allowing only 1 hit through 7 innings and giving up only 1 run. I really want to see him in ATL.
Chattanooga 1, Mississippi 2
Well there is the first 3 game win streak of the year for the M-Braves. Carlos Sencion got his AA legs with 5 innings of 1 run ball and then Kris Medlen came in for 3 innings and struck out 6. That is excellent news since he has been hit hard in 5 of his last 6 appearances. Matt Young and J. C. Boscan were the offense with young knocking Boscan in twice for all the runs.
Myrtle Beach 8, Salem 4
The offensive story here was Travis Jones and Ernesto Mejia. Jones was 4-5 2 doubles, HR (4), and 2 RBI. Mejia was 3-4 double, HR (4) and 6!!!! RBI. Very Impressive. Jon Owings also has 2 doubles to add to the offensive fun. Kevin Gunderson now has 8 saves, 12.1 IP and has only allowed 1 run on the year.
Rome 1, Augusta 2
I was at this game and will post my impressions in the diaries section. Cody Johnson knocked in the only Braves run with a towering double off the tall CF wall in Augusta. Eric Barrett pitched very well for 5.1 innings. He threw a lot of balls and hit three batters. The funny thing is I didn't realize he had hit ANY of them. Not a single plunk, just a jersey catch or a toe in the dirt. The big news is last years 2nd pick Jon Gilmore did in fact debut at 3rd base (a per secondbass's prediction) and he even got a hit.
