Atlanta Braves Minor League Recap: 6/10

Slow night in the minors. Both Gwinnett (33-27 and 4.5 games out in 3rd) and Mississippi (30-30 and 9games out in 3rd) were off today and the other teams lost.

Kinston 4, Myrtle Beach 1

  • D. Linares 2-4 RBI, K
  • C. Johnson 0-2 2BB, 2K
  • J. Ortegano 6IP 3H 0R 0BB 6K

Well Ortegano pitched great in this one only to have the bullpen blow it. MIchael Broadway might be the only bad reliever in the system now as he sports an 0-5 record (as a reliever mind you) and a 7 something ERA. An odd occurence in the last few games is Cody Johnson has 10 walks in his last 5 games but only 1 home run this month. Currently Myrtle Beach is 21-36 and 10 games out of first place in the division.

Rome 3, Savannah 4

  • J. Santamaria 2-4 CS(4)
  • C. Culver 1-4 HR2), 2K
  • D. Delgado 4IP 4H 1R 2BB 3K

Dimaster Delgado came out and pitched another good game. He hasn't made it past the 5th yeat in either start, but I am sure he is on a strict pitch count right now. He is a guy we will have to keep an eye on. Calvin Culver is the most intriguing position player to keep an eye for Rome. He has started pretty well and is showing some extra base power and doesn't K much. Like a lot of toolsy guys though he doesn't walk much yet, but he has time to refine that. Rome is 32-27 and 3 games out and in 3rd place.
