The Braves are in the midst of a 22-inning scoreless drought after suffering through their second straight shutout at the hands of the Brewers. There are signs that the team is trying to do more to score runs, though. The Braves stole a season-high 3 stolen bases tonight (plus a defensive indifference in the ninth inning), trying their best to manufacture some runs. Last night it was Gallard's brilliance on the mound, but tonight it was Suppan's craftiness and a lack of timely hitting.
Why do we always suffer in June? Is it something to do with the sudden heat and humidity of the south affecting the players? Something's gotta give, and at some point things will turn around.
Javier Vazquez pitched another good game -- a quality start -- where he ends up taking the loss. Nate McLouth got his first hit in a Braves uniform. He also walked once and stole a base.
Chipper Jones exited the game in the fifth-inning with a brand new injury, for him -- dizziness. Okay...
Hey, everything will be fine tomorrow, though, as Tommy Hanson will make his much anticipated major league debut. I know I can't wait.
