Braves Fall To Phillies Again, The End Is Nigh

Not even Bobby Cox day could inspire the Braves offense.
Not even Bobby Cox day could inspire the Braves offense.

To say the Braves came up empty today is an insult to empty. I watched this team today wondering how we even got this far, and how we didn't get eliminated weeks ago. There is not enough punch in the lineup to scare a triple-A team.

Tommy Hanson pitched in and out of trouble all day, and kept the game scoreless, but the second inning of work for his relief, Jonny Venters, proved to be too much for the already overused lefty. Of course that leaves out the fact that our offense has apparently gone on holiday.

This team doesn't seem to have anything left. We've only got one more game left. I've been saying for the past month that the Braves would fittingly win the Wild Card with their last at-bat in their last game. Now that it's come to the final game, let's hope I'm right.
