John Smoltz Finds A Job

John Smoltz will once again be joining the Braves... but this time it will be in the broadcast booth. It was just announced that he will join TBS as an analyst, working TBS Sunday MLB games. He will also serve as the analyst for games on Peachtree TV, partnering with Joe Simpson.

It's great to have John back in the Braves fold, even if it is only as broadcaster. This also looks to unofficially end his 21-year Major League career, though no official retirement announcement has been made.

As a contributor to Fox Sports South, who is broadcasting the first of two consecutive spring training games today, I can't help but notice the timing of this announcement from rival station TBS. Just a bit of one-upmanship.
