Braves Quote For The Day... Julio Teheran

From Baseball America's Daily Dish prospect blog:

Simply Ridiculous

This is just getting silly. Braves righthander Julio Teheran had his third double-digit strikeout game yesterday in his sixth game since getting promoted to high Class A Myrtle Beach a month ago. Teheran threw his fastball consistently in the mid-90s and left after striking out 12 with just two walks and two hits in seven shutout innings. The scary thing is that he's still just 19 and might already be too good for the Carolina League.

I'm all for moving him up to double-A, but at the same time Myrtle Beach is a great place for players and a great place for pitchers to gain confidence. Let him dominate there for another month or two.

UPDATE:  And as I thought he would, Kevin Goldstein chimes in as well:

Teheran spent his last two starts proving to the world that he is slightly human, but last night, he once again looked like some alien from another planet ready to conquer the world.  Again, this is a 19-year-old in High-A, and he's whiffed 49 in 39 innings while walking just seven.  Next week, I'm going to work on a list of the best prospects still in the minor leagues, and on my spreadsheet filled with numbers and scout notes, this guy keeps moving closer to the top.

I think JT will be a top-10 prospect in baseball by mid-season.
