Open Thread 6/18: Braves vs. Royals

Tonight at the Ted, the Braves begin their third interleague series of the year, and this one is not nearly so daunting as the first two. The opponent is the Kansas City Royals, now led by former Braves coach Ned Yost, and featuring 6 former Braves, 5 of whom were originally Braves farmhands.

Derek Lowe starts for the Braves, no doubt hoping to duplicate his very good performance from his last start against the Twins. He'll match up against Royals starter Brian Bannister, who was absolutely shelled in his last start, giving up 11 runs (9 earned) in 3 innings.

Here's the Braves' lineup (it's the usual one vs. a righty):

1) Prado, 2B
2) Heyward, RF
3) Chipper, 3B
4) McCann, C
5) Glaus, 1B
6) Hinske, LF
7) Escobar, SS
8) Cabrera, CF
9) Lowe, SP
