Braves Continue to Roll, Unbeaten Streak Reaches 13

The Braves are clicking on all cylinders right now. They have taken over the best record in the National League. The offense has taken over the runs scored (344) lead over Cincinnati, too.

Perhaps more impressively, the Atlanta Braves have won 14 of their last 15 home games. Atlanta just swept the Royals out of Atlanta and finished up the mini-home stand with a 5-1 record. Furthermore, the Braves are now unbeaten in their last 13 series.

Series wins/draws in a row (-13-): @ MIL, vs. ARZ, vs. NYM, vs. CIN, @ PIT, @FLA, PIT, PHI, @LAD, @ARZ, @MIN, vs. TB, vs. KC (FYI: The last series loss was May 7-9th, 2 games to 1 @ Philly.)

The Braves go back on the road for a one series trip to Chicago where they will face the suddenly red-hot White Sox, after an off day Monday. The White Sox have won six straight games. Then Atlanta will take on the equally hot Tigers back at home for the weekend series (Fri-Sun). The Tigers have won 8-of-10. Both are three game series' so they will need outright series wins to continue to streak!

Outside of the teams success there was an encouraging sign for one of the team’s veterans. Chipper Jones got hot this week after slumping for the entire year. Heck, just five Chipper Jones games played ago he was hitting .228 for the year. Over his last five games played Chipper is 8-for-17 (.471) and that helped sky rocket his average to .250 on the year. He had 4 BB, 1 HR, 3 2B, 7 RBI, 5 R, 1 SB in that 5 game stretch, too! All this coming after he was mulling over a possible retirement at seasons end.

Hopefully the Braves continue this fine play again this week!
