Gwinnett 3, Scranton-Wilkes Barre 2
Tim Gustafson had his best start of the season, since his previous best apperance, where he threw 6 shutout innings on May 14th, was a relief appearance. Mike Dunn continues to impress, collecting his 3rd save and getting both of his outs on strikeouts. Jordan Schafer is 6 for his last 17 with a double and 3 stolen bases in his last 4 games.
Mississippi 3, Montgomery 6
It's possible that the Braves made a mistake by releasing Antoan Richardson out of Spring Training. In 7 games with Mississippi, he's hitting .385 with a .818 OPS. Of course, he could just be hot right now. Donell Linares is hot right now, with 5 hits in his lat 16 at bats, including a pair of doubles and a triple. In 8 games with Myrtle Beach Juan Abreu had a 8.22 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP in 15.1 innings. In 10 games with Mississippi, covering 11.2 innings, he has a 0.77 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP. That's as drastic a difference as you're going to find.
Myrtle Beach 1, Salem 2
Randall Delgado picks up the loss, despite only allowing 1 earned run. He did allow more baserunners than he had in any of his previous 7 starts, but there's nothing wrong with 6.2 innings, 1 earned run, and 8 strikeouts. Mike Jones collected a pair of hits off his previous team, but the Pelicans didn't get on base much otherwise.
Rome 5, Augusta 3
Things have been going good for Rome lately, and tonight they got good pitching and good hitting. Cory Rasmus continues to pitch well, giving up just 1 earned run in 6 innings, a big improvement over the 4 he gave up in his last start. And David Hale picked up his first win of the season, pitching the last 3 innings of the game. He's made 4 relief appearances this season, and all but one of them have been very good. Kyle Rose collects a few hits, but gets caught stealing yet again. His lack of extra base power has become an issue as well, as his slugging percentage hangs at a lowly .310.
DSL Braves 5, DSL Angels 0
18 year old Jesus Saldeno only allowed 2 baserunners in 5 innings, and though the Braves only got 5 hits in the game, 3 Angels errors helped them secure the win. Fellow 18 year old Ronald Luna, who is a shortstop by trade but DHed in this game, had an RBI single and a walk.
