Braves Quote For The Day... More Minor League Pitching Depth

From the Myrtle Beach game recap where J.J. Hoover once again dominated:

Since tweaking his mechanics before his May 7 start, Hoover has become one of the best pitchers in the Carolina League.  Over his last six starts, Hoover has gone at least six innings in each outing, allowing just six runs in that span, good for an ERA of 1.36 (6 ER/39 2/3 IP).  Over his last six appearances, Hoover has cut his ERA in half from 6.35 to 3.18, good for seventh in the Carolina League.

And he's struck out 33 while only walking 6 over that span. The Minor Leagues are for making adjustments, and it's great to see a smart young pitcher like Hoover making the changes he needs to make to be successful. Right now he's pitching as well as Teheran or Delgado, though not quite as good as Vizcaino... which is saying something.
