Open Thread 7/20: Braves vs. Padres

The Braves come off of an off day and a series split against the Milwaukee Brewers to face the National League's best team in the San Diego Padres. Tonight's starters, Jair Jurrjens and Wade LeBlanc will look to give their team the edge in game one. Jurrjens battled through his last start against the Brewers as the Braves prevailed 2-1 and got Jurrjens the win. He didn't look too great during the game, but he pitched out of jams and was able to fend off the Brewer's tough lineup. LeBlanc is coming off of a loss against the Rockies in which he allowed 4 runs, 11 base runners, and 3 home runs over 5.2 innings. Chipper Jones is out again tonight, and Omar Infante is batting third and playing third in his place. Infante has been hot as of late but so has Matt Diaz. Diaz's career batting average vs. LHP is .341 whereas Infante's career OBP vs. LHP is .310. Okay, enough with the negativity, let's hit up LeBlanc and take the series opener.

Braves Lineup:

1. Prado 2B

2. Heyward RF

3. Infante 3B

4. Glaus 1B

5. McCann C

6. Diaz LF

7. Gonzalez SS

8. Cabrera CF

9. Jurrjens P

The game starts at 7:10 EST.
