David O'Brien gives us this note about possible changes to the Atlanta Braves broadcast team this year:
I'm hearing that Tom Glavine is going to have a more extensive role in the Braves' TV booth this season. I'm told that he'll work as analyst (with Braves fixture Joe Simpson moving over from analyst work to do play-by-play) on an undetermined number of the Peachtree TV games that are being produced this year by Fox Sports South. Expect an announcement soon.
Glavine is not that interesting, but he's a whole lot less annoying that the alternative. I welcome less Chip in the booth. I truly miss Jon Sciambi ... and of course Skip and Pete.
(By the way, I just got a note from DOB that a couple of other ex-Braves will also be new faces in the booth this year. Not Smoltz.)
