Braves vs. Giants Series Recap

Fear the beard the Braves do not. After a disappointing series in Los Angeles, the Braves went to San Francisco and took out their frustration on the Giants in a big way. Here are some notes from the series.

Braves pull off a road sweep of the Giants: for the first time since August 7 - 9, 1998, the Braves sweep the Giants in San Francisco.

Brian McCann continues to rake with RISP: he was 2 for 3 in the series and is now 10 for 13 on the season.

Tim Hudson getting his stroke back: his previous two starts before this were just hiccups. We all know how good he really is.

Tommy Hanson with another dominating start: now if only he could put together a bunch of them in a row, we'd be in great shape.

Dan Uggla continues to struggle: 1 for 11 in the series; April can't end soon enough, but his home run certainly looked sweet.

Jason Heyward slump-busting: the 0 for 14 in L.A. was just a glitch in his CPU. His home run Sunday traveled 435 ft.

Brandon Beachy with another good start: now he just needs to pitch good at home, which he hasn't done yet.

Also in the series:

Braves pitchers: 2 walks, 21 strikeouts

Giants pitchers: 16 walks, 25 strikeouts

Buster Posey made the final out in each of the three games.

1-2-3 hitters in the Giants lineup: 4 for 37.

Six walks issued by Tim Lincecum Saturday. That set a new high for Lincecum in a single game. He entered the game having only walked seven in his four previous starts.

Jason Heyward: 7 for 12, now 13 for 35 (.371) against the Giants.

Buster Posey: 1 for 10, now 2 for 21 (.095) against the Braves.

Braves offense: 10 for 27 with RISP (.370).
