Braves Acquire Outfielder Jeff Fiorentino From Orioles

New, comments

Frank Wren and the Braves have acquired outfielder Jeff Fiorentino from the Baltimore Orioles for, well, we aren't exactly sure yet. There aren't many details on the deal at this point, but one would think the Braves will either be sending cash or a player to be named later to Baltimore. We'll update the story more as more information comes along.

Fiorentino, 28, was selected in the third round of the 2004 draft by Baltimore. He briefly spent some time in Oakland before returning to the Orioles organization. The outfielder isn't particularly big at 6'1'' and 185lbs, but he's put up some pretty decent numbers in Triple-A and in limited playing time in the Major Leagues. In 2009, Fiorentino hit .312/.387/.510 with 12 home runs, 67 RBI, and 13 stolen bases. He spent the 2010 season playing in Japan.

This is all nice, but we have to ask: Can he bunt?
