Teheran's great week on the mound earned him a second International League Pitcher of the week award.

Julio Teheran continues to impress at Triple-A Gwinnett and was awarded his second International League Pitcher of the Week award of the season. Here's the writeup that the leage published in giving him this honor.

Gwinnett right-hander Julio Teheran continued his dominance of International League hitters this week, winning twice in two starts with an IL-best 15.0 innings pitched. Teheran matched a personal season-high by going 8.0 strong innings Monday night against Syracuse. The victory was in doubt though, as the Braves trailed 2-1 in the bottom of the 7th with two out and Teheran due up. Manager Dave Brundage decided to let Teheran hit, and the pitched singled and eventually came around to score the tying run. After tossing a scoreless 8th, the Braves got six runs in the bottom of the frame to put the game away. Teheran got his eighth win of the year on Saturday at Columbus. This time, he went 7.0 innings, scattering four hits and allowing just one run as Gwinnett rolled to a 5-1 triumph. Teheran leads the International League with an impressive 1.79 ERA.

Teheran was also recently chosen to pitch for the World team at the MLB All-star Futures Game during All-star weekend in July, so it's been a good week for the highly touted right-hander. As a team, Gwinnett has now won six International League weekly awards so far in 2011.
