Braves Collecting Spare White Sox

"I miss my old team ... but a little less now that the Braves are buying all these White Sox players"

At this hour there are no major trades to report for the Atlanta Braves, but there are a plethora of minor league trades ... all with the White Sox. A few days ago the Sox traded minor league infielder Greg Paiml to the Braves for ... cash considerations.

Today the Braves made another minor trade with the White Sox, acquiring Christian Marrero in exchange for ... cash considerations.

Last April, the Braves made a trade for outfielder Stefan Gartrell ... in exchange for cash ... from the White Sox. Earlier that off-season they had acquired Scott Linebrink from the White Sox, this time for an actual player, pitcher Kyle Cofield.

So what's up with all the minor acquisitions of minor players from one team? Who are we, the Royals?

My only thought here is that new hitting coach Greg Walker, who was with the White Sox for the last nine years, had his eye on a couple of these guys and told the Braves front office if there was an opportunity to acquire them that they should. However it happened, it's mighty curious.
