The Braves have scored 33 runs during their current three-game winning streak. They have won eight of their last nine games. Freeman homers twice, Minor pitches gem, Braves roll | AJC Braves
Freeman said Minor’s talent has been obvious to teammates for some time. "We all knew the potential, and I think everybody’s seeing it now," Freeman said. "Those lefties that come in and throw 92, 93 [mph fastballs] with a changeup and a curveball like he has, don’t come around very often. He’s putting it all together now, and we’re lucky to see it."
Braves quotes after Thursday’s win against Dbacks | AJC Braves
Fredi Gonzalez, on Mike Minor: "He was outstanding. Between him and Freddie Freeman, I think we just watched two pretty good performances. Freddie had a career high in RBIs and Mike went eight innings. And we got a W. Scored some runs when we had to, then added on. Nice job."
Chipper out after fluid forms in left knee | braves.com: News
"Unfortunately, when I get fluid down in the joint, my range of motion is not real good," Jones said. "There's no need to push it right now. We'll just take it one day at a time and hopefully it will get better in the morning."
Chipper out of lineup with sore knee after long flight | AJC Braves
"We knew we were going to have to manage that, so I’ve got no problems with that," Gonzalez said of Jones’ health issues, particularly the knees. "That’s why talked to him about it in the office and said just let me know, not try to play through stuff and then we lose you for 10 days. I said I’d rather get you for two on, take two off, and keep you the whole year than try to push you and then all of a sudden we lose you for 15 days. "He goes, ‘You know the flights are what really takes it out of me.’ I guess the pressurized cabins or whatever get to him. I said, hey, we’ll work around that. I’d rather get him healthy and keep him fresh than try to push him."
Hudson to make one more rehab start | braves.com: News
"Stuff-wise, I feel like I'm pretty close to where I want to be," Hudson said. "I'd like to build my arm strength a little bit. I was sitting around 89-90 mph. I threw some 87 and 88s in there that I don't like seeing too much. I think after pitching more, working out and long-tossing, it will be better."
Hudson nearing return; whither Delgado? | AJC Braves
"He’s pitched good enough for me," Gonzalez said of Delgado. "Those are good things for him to keep doing — just go out and keep pitching. If he’s the one who’s got to go down, we’re going to need him again [this season]. There’s not many rotations, if any, anymore that go intact the whole year.
Jurrjens on track to make his next start | braves.com: News
"I looked at the video of him and there were some balls he left over the plate," Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said. "Whether it was the weather or a tough day to pitch, because [Mets starter R.A.] Dickey didn't last very long, either. I'm just going to chalk it up to that right now."
