At least the Braves scored this time.
David Wright homered in the first inning and Lucas Duda hit two of his own in the Mets' 4-2 win over Atlanta.
Wright's home run came with two outs in the first inning off Jair Jurrjens. In the top of the inning, Michael Bourn was denied trying to score from third on a wild pitch from R.A. Dickey. Bourn had doubled to lead off the game.
It took four scoreless frames before a Braves player crossed home plate, 13 innings overall, when Martin Prado belted a game tying two-run home run in the fifth off Dickey. That's all they could manage in six innings against the knuckleballer. Dickey lasted six innings, gave up five hits and walked four, striking out three.
Jurrjens didn't fare nearly as well. With one out in the fourth, Duda launched his first home run of the season for a 2-0 Mets lead. The score was 2-2 in the fifth when Jurrjens exited the game with two on and one out and newcomer Livan Hernandez was summoned from the bullpen. He retired Duda, but surrendered an RBI hit to Josh Thole to give the Mets a 3-2 lead.
Duda hit his second home run of the game in the seventh off Chad Durbin.
Jurrjens allowed seven hits and three runs in 4.1 innings, striking out three.
Frank Francisco allowed a pair of hits in the ninth, but still earned the save.
The Braves will try to salvage the final game of the series Sunday.
