Braves quotes after Tuesday loss to Phillies | AJC Braves
Fredi Gonzalez: "We were all set up to win that ballgame and it kind of hurts. It wasn’t Jonny’s day. A couple balls got through the infield it seemed like all night, even off Beach a little bit – a couple balls off the end of the bat or going through that hole there. But it’s just one of those days, come out tomorrow get another pitching performance and keep going. I’m really pleased the way we swung the bats early in the game and even off of Qualls there in the eighth. It just wasn’t our night."

"I didn't make pitches with guys on, and they made me pay for it," Venters said. "There is no excuses. Brandon pitched his butt off today, and we were in the game in the eighth. For me to let it get away like that, it's unacceptable."

But it feels a lot better pain-wise." Heyward does not remember suffering the injury while playing the entirety of Sunday's game against the Pirates. Hinske uses bunt to start four-hit day | AJC Braves
In only his third start of the season, Eric Hinkse went 4-for-4 on Monday to match his career-high in hits, a number he hadn’t reached since July 3, 2004 when he was with the Toronto Blue Jays. Hinske said they were playing the former Montreal Expos in Puerto Rico, but that’s about all he remembers from that day. (Actually, he hit two doubles and helped chase starter Tony Armas Jr. after four innings. And pitching that day for Toronto? Roy Halladay, Wednesday night’s starter for the Phillies.)
