The Braves will try to get themselves a win tonight in Cincinnati, and they'll have the Major League ERA leader on the hill. Brandon Beachy goes for his sixth win, against Mat Latos, who goes for his third loss. Here is tonight's lineup:
- Michael Bourn, CF
- Martin Prado, LF
- Freddie Freeman, 1B
- Dan Uggla, 2B
- Jason Heyward, RF
- Juan Francisco, 3B
- David Ross, C
- Tyler Pastornicky, SS
- Brandon Beachy, P
If you're wondering where B-Mac is, he was scratched with apparent flu-like symptoms. Chipper is still out.
Beachy has faced the Reds once before. He went six innings, allowing five hits, four walks, and three runs, just one earned, with four strikeouts. He'll try to do a better job than Minor did of keeping the ball inside the park, and so far this season Beachy is tied for the Major League lead (with five others) for fewest home runs allowed among starting pitchers with at least 30 innings pitched.
Beachy has recorded a quality start in each of his last seven starts. He's coming off of a complete game shutout against Miami in his last start. He did throw a season high 122 pitches, so pitch count in this game might be something to keep an eye on.
And finally, while the Braves still haven't won a game on a Monday this season, they are undefeated (3-0) in Tuesday road games. Let's keep that going! Go Braves!
