Atlanta Braves at Cincinnati Reds - May 22, 2012 | MLB.com ATL Recap
"Other than those three pitches, I pitched the way I wanted to pitch tonight," said Beachy, who dropped to 5-2 on the season. "I didn't have my good fastball, but I was spotting it up and mixing it up really well. If those stay singles, I throw a game to be proud of."

Reds hit three homers off Beachy in 4-3 win over Braves | Atlanta Braves
He was asked if the culprit was an undersized ballpark, mistake pitches, or a combination of the two. "Probably a combination," he said. "But I missed some spots. I’m not going to let the ballpark be an excuse for any of those three home runs. None of those pitches were where they were supposed to be."

Braves quotes after Tuesday’s loss to Reds | Atlanta Braves
Fredi Gonzalez, on all the Reds homers: "Two nights in a row. They’re swinging it, and getting them over the fence. I thought Beachy was terrific. Again. Minor did a nice job yesterday getting us deep in the ballgame, and Beachy did a great job keeping it right there. We just didn’t have any offense to score. "I guess you’ve got to tip your hat to their starting pitching. You hand the ball off to their bullpen and you’re going to be in trouble, because it’s a short game. You’ve got Chapman and the kid who pitched yesterday [Arredondo], and I’m going to mispronounce the eighth-inning guy here today [Ondrusek]. They’re pretty good."

"It's always good to [hit two home runs], but all-and-all you want the victory," said Bourn. "I just happened to see the ball good, and I was able to get a hold of it."

McCann scratched from lineup with illness | braves.com: News
Catcher Brian McCann was scratched from Tuesday's starting lineup against Cincinnati due to illness and was replaced by David Ross. "He's got a little bit of a fever, nothing major," said manager Fredi Gonzalez.

Braves manager not pleased by Francisco’s actions after homer | Atlanta Braves
Fredi Gonzalez didn’t appreciate Juan Francisco’s bat-flip and slow trot after hitting a second-inning homer against his former Cincinnati team Tuesday, and the Braves manager let the backup third baseman know it. "I spoke to the young man about that the following inning and told him that we try not to do that here," Gonzalez said. "I don’t like it here. The Braves have been known for a classy organization and I don’t encourage anyone to do that. Somebody could get hurt [by a retaliation pitch], one of his teammates or even himself. And hopefully he got the message."

Despite Jurrjens’ bad Triple-A stats, Braves say they’re encouraged | Atlanta Braves
Still, Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez said the report from Gwinnett manager Dave Brundage was good. "I talked to Brundy this morning, because I saw the line score and I read the game report," Gonzalez said. "And Brundy was encouraged. Stuff that you guys don’t see on the line score. His velocity was up. I think they had him a couple of times at 93 [mph], which we hadn’t seen here. So there is some progress there.
