Atlanta will have one less arm in its bullpen at least for today's game because Kris Medlen was optioned to Gwinnett to start a few games. Jose Constanza was recalled in his place and will play left field and bat ninth. Delgado will hit eighth.

Some good news for Braves hitters: St. Louis has lost each of Westbrook's last three starts in which he gave up 14 runs in 15 innings with opponents hitting .371 against him in those starts. Two of Westbrook's four starts against Atlanta came last year (1-0, 4 ER in 11.1 IP). Hinske has just three hits in his last 35 at-bats, but is 5-for-14 against Westbrook although he hasn't had a hit against him since 2005.
