Atlanta Braves right fielder Jason Heyward has been named the National League Player of the Week for the week ending June 24th. J-Hey hit .522 (12-for-23) and slugged 1.130, including three home runs, three doubles, and a triple.

This marks the third time this season that a Braves player has won the Player of the Week award. Freddie Freeman won it twice for the weeks ending April 22nd and May 6th.

Heyward currently has a 10 game hitting streak, batting .459 during that span. He has hit safely in all but three games in the month of June, compiling a .391/.417/.754 slash line with 14 of his 27 hits going for extra bases. He is now tied for the team lead in home runs, and third in both RBIs and Total Bases.

In other news, Fredi Gonzalez announced that he might move Heyward up to 6th in the batting order ... "might."
