2012 MLB First Year Player Draft: Braves Day Two Open Thread

It's day two of the 2012 Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft. The Atlanta Braves drafted a great young pitcher yesterday from metro Atlanta named Lucas Sims. Read all about him here. Hopefully this is a trend of high upside players that the Braves will take. This draft seems to have a lot more prep talent deeper in the first few rounds than that last few drafts, so we'll see if the Braves continue to take high school players, or fall back to the college ranks. It took until the 11th round last year before the Braves drafted a high school player.

The second round starts today at noon with the 61st pick, and the Braves select 24 picks later with the 85th pick. There are a few comp picks after the third round, then the draft order stabilizes with Atlanta having the 21st pick in each round. The last round today will be the 15th, then they'll pick back up tomorrow with rounds 16 through 40 -- only 40 rounds this year.

I'll have a couple of stories up today, the first detailing the Braves 2 through 5 picks, and another story with the next 10. Scouting reports for all players, as well as Twitter handles if they have them.

Open thread for general chatting about the draft.
