Gattis And Hyams Stay Hot As W. Perez And Ubiera Have Fantastic Starts In Wednesday's Atlanta Braves Minor League Action

Evan Gattis and Levi Hyams stayed hot, Williams Perez and Andry Ubiera had fantastic starts.

Williams Perez had a fantastic start, allowing 1 hit and 1 unearned run while striking out 5 over a season high 7 innings of work. In his last 4 starts, the 21 year old Venezuelan righty has allowed 5 earned runs in 24.1 innings, striking out 23 and walking just 1. Eduardo Castillo made his third straight scoreless appearance, striking out 3 in 4 innings during that span. Levi Hyams extended his hitting streak to 6 games, and he's gone 9-24 with 4 doubles, 2 homers, and 5 RBI during that span. Felix Marte hit his seventh homer of the year, and while's he's cooled off after a blazing start with the D-Braves, he's still put up great numbers, with a .305 average, a .900 OPS, 5 doubles, 7 homers, and 22 RBI in 131 at bats.

Connor Lien reached base twice, and the 18 year old has shown a good eye this year, walking in 12% of his plate appearances, though he's also shown off some youthful aggression, striking out in 29% of his at bats. Justin Black snapped a 0-15 skid in his last 4 games with a 2 hit, 2 RBI day that included his second homer of the year. The 19 year old, selected in the 4th round of this year's draft, has struggled, hitting .181 with a .542 OPS, striking out in 40% of his at bats. In his last 2 games, Seth Moranda has gone 3-7 with a walk.

Roberto Estrella will start against the Pirates tomorrow afternoon.
