It was a great night in Arizona for Atlanta's AFL representatives last night. Tommy La Stella, hitting in his customary 3-hole, went 1-3 with a single and a walk, driving in two Scottsdale runs. Robby Hefflinger, who had been hitless in his 2 games before tonight, broke out with an RBI double as part of a 2-4 night. "Heff" once again hit cleanup for the Scorpions and played left field. John Cornely made his second relief appearance of the season and pitched 1.1 innings, allowing a hit, a walk, and collecting a strikeout. Cornely was roughed up in his first relief appearance, so it was good to see him bounce back.
Aaron Northcraft will make his second start of the season tomorrow against Mesa. In his first start, Northcraft was touched up for 2 runs in 2.1 innings of work. We'll see if he can bounce back against a Mesa team that is 4-0 so far in AFL play.
