Opening Day is officially one week away. Even with this past offseason being one of the busiest in franchise history, it's been far too long since the Braves were playing at Turner Field.
There were two interesting developments to come out of camp over the weekend.
Julio Teheran continued having arguably the best spring of any pitcher in baseball with another dominant no-hit performance against the Astros. He struck out 10 batters over six innings. The lineup he faced won't exactly draw any comparisons to the '27 Yankees, but those numbers are damn impressive regardless of the opponent.
In a bit of news that isn't so good, it seems Brian McCann might not be back in Atlanta until early May. It was announced he will not play in any Minor League rehab games before April 16. He is yet to appear in any Spring Training games.
The club had been hoping for a mid-April return, but barring an accelerated recovery the next couple weeks, that seems unlikely. Slow and steady wins the race, I suppose, and there's zero reason to rush Mac back with Laird and Gattis more than capable of holding it down behind the plate.
Now onto some links before the Bravos take on the Mets at 1:05.

The Braves came to camp hoping Julio Teheran would prove he's ready to be their fifth starter. Instead, Teheran has proven to be the most impressive spring training pitcher anywhere.

Dan Uggla hit his first home run in nearly three weeks, and Julio Teheran produced yet another stellar start with six hitless innings for the Braves in Saturday afternoon's 3-2 win over the Astros at Champion Stadium.

Catcher Brian McCann will start the season on the disabled list and likely miss at least a few weeks, which makes what Evan Gattis is doing this spring all the more important for the Braves.
Pitchers Gilmartin, Obispo sent down, could be back before long | www.ajc.com
The Braves reassigned pitchers Wirfin Obispo and prospect Sean Gilmartin to minor league camp Sunday, but it won’t be surprising if either is back with the big-league team at some point during the season.
Windy conditions add to Medlen's recent woes | braves.com: News
Over the course of the past week, Braves right-hander Kris Medlen has surrendered 14 hits in a five-inning stint and battled the strong winds that existed during Sunday afternoon's rain-shortened 9-3 loss to the Nationals. Count him among the many Major Leaguers who are anxiously anticipating next week's arrival of the regular season.
