In another stunning upset Brian McCann bested Craig Kimbrel in the semifinals, and now faces Jason Heyward in the Fave Brave 2013 finals. The fan voting over the next two days will determine which Atlanta Braves player is the fans' favorite for 2013.
In Heyward and McCann we have the two leaders of the team. McCann's tenure as a Brave is the second longest on the team. He is one of the best hitting catchers in the game, and his future on the team is in question beyond this season as he approaches free agency. He will spend most of the first month of the season on the disabled list, fighting his way back from injury.
Jason Heyward has assumed a leadership role this spring. At just 23-years-old, Heyward has been out in front of the camera this past month, giving interviews and showing his new outfield teammates the ropes at Braves camp. Many think that he is poised for a breakout season. He added a Gold Glove last year, what kind of end-of-year hardware can he earn this year.
You will decide which player is your favorite, and you can vote in two ways. The first is in the poll provided below. The other way is to tweet #TeamHeyward or #TeamMcCann on Twitter, along with #FaveBrave2013. Polls will be open for 48 hours.
Happy Fave Brave 2013 finals, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
