The Braves travel to George Steinbrenner Field this afternoon to take on the Yankees in the 16th game of Spring Training. The Braves have already played the Yankees twice this spring, winning once and losing once. The Yankees will be playing today's game with high emotions, as longtime Yankee closer Mariano Rivera announced this morning that he would retire at season's end. Get ready for a bunch of crazy gifts, Mariano! (Let's be real though, nothing can top a surfboard, right?)
The Braves will hand the ball to Mike Minor today for his third start of the spring. In his previous 5 innings of work, Minor has allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 7. The Braves will field the following lineup behind Minor:
- Jordan Schafer, CF
- Tyler Pastornicky, SS
- Freddie Freeman, DH
- Dan Uggla, 2B
- Juan Francisco, 3B
- Chris Johnson, 1B
- Gerald Laird, C
- Todd Cunningham, RF
- Joey Terdoslavich, LF
