Tyler Pastornicky to Have Season-Ending Surgery

Phil Gosselin's contract purchased as his replacement

USA TODAY Sports

The Braves announced today that infielder Tyler Pastornicky will having season-ending ACL surgery on his left knee. Pastornicky collided with Jason Heyward while trying to catch a pop-up Wednesday and had to come out of the game.

With both Dan Uggla and Pastornicky now on the DL, the Braves purchased infielder Phil Gosselin's contract from Triple-A Gwinnett. Gosselin, 24, was promoted to Gwinnett in June. He has hit .277/.326/.343 in 47 games there with two home runs and 11 RBIs. He has played the majority of his professional career at second base, with a few appearances in the outfield.

Gosselin will wear #59 and will available to play tonight.
