You might be asking yourself: "Gee Dan, why is there only one hitter line in Gwinnett's recap this morning?" Well friends, light-hitting shortstop Sean Kazmar's third inning single was the only thing that prevented Gwinnett from being perfecto'd. That's right, he was the only baserunner of the night. He even stole second! But that was all Gwinnett had cooking against Toledo starter Blaine Hardy, who threw a complete game one-hitter on 107 pitches. Kameron Loe started for Gwinnett and was shelled, giving up 12(!) hits in 4 innings. Somehow, only 5 managed to score. Joe Bisenius threw 3 innings in relief of Loe, allowing a run on 2 hits while whiffing 4.

Mississippi split a doubleheader with the Biscuits last night. Christian Bethancourt continued his renaissance, going 3-8 with a single, double, and his 12th homer of the year across both games. In his last 40 games, Bethancourt is hitting over .300 and posting an ISO of .256. Tommy La Stella just keeps on hitting, and today was no different as he notched 3 hits including a pair of doubles. Dan Brewer also went yard for the third time in the nightcap. Ian Thomas was roughed up a bit in game one, allowing 3 runs in 4 innings of work while only striking out 2. In the second game, Gary Moran was up to the task, allowing only a single hit over 5 shutout innings.

Lynchburg throttled Atlanta's former High-A affiliate Myrtle Beach last night behind some stellar pitching and a balanced offensive attack. Greg Ross tossed 6 innings of shutout baseball, allowing only 4 hits while striking out 5 as he breezed to his 8th win of the year. Meanwhile, every 7 of Lynchburg's 9 hitters collected 2 hits, with only Josh Elander (1 hit) and catcher Cory Brownstein (0-5) falling short. David Rohm hit his 8th triple of the year, and drew a walk as well. Matt Lipka collected a pair of singles and swiped his 31st base of the year.

Mauricio Cabrera had a shaky outing last night, but Rome's offense backed his effort. Cabrera was wild, walking 3 batters in 5.1 innings while only striking out 2. However, he managed to limit the damage to 2 runs and in the process notched his 3rd win of the year. Edison Sanchez had a perfect day at the plate, going 3-3 with a double, a steal and 3 RBI. Left fielder Joey Meneses chipped in as well with a pair of hits, including an RBI double.

Danville dropped an extra innings game to Princeton last night, getting walked off in 11. The D-Braves managed only 5 hits tonight, so there weren't any great offensive performances to note. The GCL team was 3-hit last night by the Yankees, spoiling a fine start from Alec Grosser. It was the first time Grosser has thrown 4 innings in his big league career, and he seems to be stretching out well. Over his first 3 starts, he's allowed 2 runs in 10 innings of work to go along with a tide 3/10 BB/K ratio.
