The Braves have reportedly claimed utility infielder Elliot Johnson on release waivers from Kansas City.
UTL Elliot Johnson claimed on waivers by Atlanta.

Johnson is hitting .179/.218/.241 but with 14 steals in 14 attempts. He plays shortstop and second base primarily and is a solid defensive infielder who switch hits. For his career, he hits .212/.267/.313 which is good for a 61 wRC+. He does not walk much, strikes out a lot, but steals bases pretty well. He is not the most useful utility man there is, but the Braves need some help in the middle infield department after Dan Uggla's eye surgery and Tyler Pastornicky's knee surgery.
