Gwinnett got smoked tonight, as Yohan Flande was wild and the 'pen wasn't any better. Flande walked 4 men in 5.1 innings en route to allowing 4 runs. The bullpen continued his implosion, allowing 7 more. Alden Carrithers had himself a day, reaching base 3 times and stealing two bags, including 3rd. Joe Leonard was the only other G-Brave to reach base more than once.

For the second night in a row, Mississippi was stomped by the Biscuits. Mitch Atkins had an awful start, walking 4 men in 4 innings while only striking out one. In fact, of the 4 pitchers Mississippi used, only Shae Simmons didn't allow a run, as he struck out 2 in 1.1 hitless innings. Christian Bethancourt just continues to hit, and has his average at .291 after a two-hit night. I have to say, I didn't imagine Bethancourt could get to this point after the start he had, but it's been awesome to behold.

Lynchburg's 8 game win streak decisively last night, as the Mudcats smashed the Hillcats 8-2. Ryan Hinson had his worst start since being signed by Atlanta, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits in 4.2 innings. Given that he also walked 4 men, he's lucky he didn't allow more runs. Matt Weaver and David Rohm combined for 5 of Lynchburg's 9 hits. Rohm has been a hitting machine of late, knocking out 13 in his last 10 games.

Hey! A win! Rome knocked off the Drive last night behind Daniel Carrol's perfect night at the plate. Carrol ended up a triple shy of the cycle as he hit two singles, a double, and launched his first home run of the year. Jose Peraza stole his 59th base on the year, and currently leads all Braves minor leaguers in that category by more than 20. Wes Parson continued his strong run of late, allowing 1 earned run on 3 hits across 5 innings. Parsons struck out 5 and walked 2.

Danville won in a thriller last night, rallying for 3 in the bottom of the 9th against the Greeneville Astros to walk off. Going into the 9th down 6-4, Johan Camargo grounded out and Victor Caratini grounded out, bringing up Bryan De La Rosa. De La Rosa hit what should have been a game-ending pop up, but an infield miscommunication allowed it to drop. Victor Reyes followed with a single. Connor Lien then reached on an error by G-Astros 3B Parker Hipp (No relation to Bennett...I think) to load the bases for Jacob Schrader. Schrader, who was 0-3 on the day, made Greenville pay for their errors, smashing a game winning 3-run triple to right field. Cody Livesay, who was promoted before the game, had a 3 hit night batting leadoff for Danville. Victor Reyes also added 3 hits, and Connor Lien added his 6th homer of the year, his second in as many days.

The GCL team lost last night, despite a perfect 4-hit day from Tanner Murphy. Murphy had 4 singles and a steal by himself; no other GCL Brave had more than 1. That about sums up this game. Daniel Cordero had a decent start, posting a 5/1 K/BB ratio in 5 innings of work.
