Gwinnett was clipped by the Clippers last night when Joe Biemel gave up the game winner in the 10th inning. Alden Carrithers was the only G-Brave to notch more than 1 hit, going 2 for 5 with a stolen base. Brandon Boggs reached 3 times via a single and two walks. He was also the only G-Brave to not strike out on the evening. Omar Poveda had a bumpy start, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits and 3 walks in 6 innings.

The M-Braves went quietly last night, mustering only 5 hits against Huntsville. Tommy La Stella collected one of them, but also walked twice, continuing his exceptional run of late; over the last 10 games, he's put up an OBP of .442. Robby Hefflinger collected his second hit in as many games after managing 2 over the previous 8. Ian Thomas had a mediocre start, allowing 2 runs in 5 innings of work.

Greg Ross tossed an excellent ballgame last night, limiting the Keys to 1 run over 7 innings of work. He allowed 9 hits but used 8 strikeouts to get out of trouble. In addition to his 8 whiffs, Ross didn't walk a batter either. Matt Lipka had a big day at the plate, roping 2 doubles as part of a 3 hits day. Lynchburg's other outfielders each added a pair of hits as well as the Hillcats triumphed 3-1.

Mauricio Cabrera had a pretty awful start last night, walking 4 while getting shelled for 6 runs in 4 innings. He's young, so these things will happen, though. Nothing to see. Matt Chaffee picked up the team out of the pen with what was probably the best performance out of Rome's pen this year. He pitched 3 perfect innings, striking out 8 of the 9 men he faced. Kyle Wren returned to the lineup after an off day and promptly reached twice and swiped two bases.

Danville knocked off Greeneville last night, scoring 3 runs on only 3 hits. 6 walks and a Greeneville fielding error helped out the Danville cause. Johan Camargo, Blake Brown, and Seth Moranda notched the Danville hits, while Brown added a stolen base as well. The Victors (Caratini and Reyes) were each hitless, but both collected a walk. Jared Dettmann started for Danville and was excellent, allowing no earned runs and just 4 baserunners over 5 innings of work.

The GCL Braves got some quality offense and a pair of excellent piggyback starts as well en route to a 5-1 win last night. Alec Grosser tossed 4 innings of 1-run ball, walking 2 and striking out 4. Jorge Zavala one upped him, throwing 4 frames of 1-hit ball with a whopping 7 strikeouts. Ian Hagenmiller led the offense with a pair of doubles, while Connor Oliver and Reed Harper each added multi-hit games as well.
