Despite 10 hits, Mississippi could only push 1 run across last night. The big story was Tommy La Stella's hitting streak, which came to an end at 23 games. Ian Thomas had a good start but walked too many men, issuing 3 free passes in just over 5 innings of work. He also struck out 7, however. Shae Simmons made his Mississippi debut with a scoreless inning.

Danville got waxed by Burlington last night, thanks largely in part to Matt Kimbrel, who gave up 6 runs in 2/3rds of an inning. Jared Dettmann started and was let down by several defensive errors leading to 4 unearned runs. Mikey Reynolds, now hitting leadoff, reached base 3 times. So did Victor Caratini.
