It's been pretty quiet on the Braves' new ballpark front in recent months, though that changed as David O'Brien dropped some pretty exciting news this afternoon. The organization has selected Populous to design the stadium.
Firm that #Braves chose designed many of the top new ballparks, including the 2 best: S.F., Pittsburgh. Also, S.D., Minnesota, Balt., etc

While we still have no idea of what the stadium will look like – there were mockups back in November, but I'm guessing those weren't very realistic – the selection of Populous would seem to be a really strong one given their track record.
I've been to AT&T Park in San Francisco and Petco Park in San Diego, and both are absolutely beautiful. Target Field in Minnesota looks pretty great on TV, too. Granted Cobb County doesn't have quite the scenery San Diego and San Fran have, but I feel confident in saying these guys will give the Braves a really nice place to play beginning in 2017.
